Newark Valley Farmers Market 2013 Season

Welcome to the 2013 season of the Newark Valley Farmers Market!

This season we changed the hours to accommodate our church going customers that wanted to join us but couldn't because of the hours.  This year the market will run Sundays from May 19th- Oct 28th from 12- 4pm.

We have a lot of new vendors interested in participating in the market this year as well as returning vendors from last season. As the next few weeks go by I will be doing posts about each individual farm. The who, what, where, when and how so that you can get a little background information on our vendors before the season begins.

We also saw how well the events that we had at the market went over. You all showed us that having the events gave just that little extra for the family to come out and have a good time.

With that being said we are working hard and have created some events that we hope you will enjoy this season. Plan ahead and mark your calendars!

Calendar of Events:

May 19th- opening day Come see what all the new and old vendors have to offer

May 26th-Community Jam Session- bring your instrument and join in the musical fun.

June 2nd- Kid's Activities Day- Come see what activities and fun things there are for your children to do
                                                throughout the year! Some of the groups and organizations that have
                                                commited to this event so far are Revolution Dance, Grippen Park BMX,
                                                TCYSA, Newark Valley Soccer Club, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, NTYL,
                                                Rockwell Outdoors, Newark Valley School Aged Child Care and more in
                                                the works. We are still waiting on commitments from some and we have a
                                                few different types of groups that you wouldn't normally think of.

June 9th- Community Jam Session- Bring your instrument and join in the musical fun.

June 16th- Fiber Day- All the local Fiber businesses will be joining us. They will have spinning
                                   demonstrations, fiber art, yarn, hats, gloves and more all made with fiber grown by
                                   their animals or bought from a local farm!

July 14th- Community Jam Session- Bring your instrument and join in the musical Fun.

July 21st- Family Fun Day- Bounce house, music, games, and more

July 28th- (open)

Aug 4th- Health and Wellness Day

Aug 11th- Community Jam Session- Bring your instruments and join in the musical fun.

Aug 17th- (open)

Aug 25th- Beekeeping Day- Learn all there is to know about beekeeping from the beginner to the professional

Sept 1st- (open)

Sept 8th- Community Jam Session- Bring your instruments and join in the musical fun.

Sept 15th- (open)

Sept 22nd-(open)

Sept 29th- Harvest Festival

Oct 6th-(open)

Oct 13th-Community Jam Session- Bring your instrument and join in the fun!

Oct 20th- (open)

Oct 27th- Trick or Treating at the farmers market- come dressed in your costume and trick or treat with all the vendors.
